Having just spent a lovely weekend at No 2 Court Cottages Chipping Warden. The cottage was situated in a row of four in a beautiful little village, hens running around the village street without a care in the world was just one of the lovely little touches this village surprised us with. Our cottage had two lovely bedrooms with lots of super creature comforts left by the Hostess: Fluffy white towels and crisp white bed linen by The White Company, L`Occitane soaps and hand creams. The passion for Kit Kitson and Laura Ashley furniture and upholstery was very evident. The kitchen was well stocked with beautiful white porcelain crockery and top quality cutlery with a oven, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer with all the equipment required if you wanted to wash you smalls! The cottage was lovely and warm and you could imagine how nice the garden would have been in the summer with its pretty well established borders and quality garden furniture. The Sky TV with a selection of popular up to date videos was helpful, plus a range of books and games. Great walks can be taken from the property: The Battlefields Trail and Jurassic Way plus beautiful walks around the local Edgecote Estate. We also travelled a short distance and ventured on a couple of walks taken from The Rights of Way leaflets that were left in the cottage by previous guests, these were very easy to follow and we fell in love with Fawsey….when the Lottery comes up we will buy our little cottage there. Oxford is a great weekend escape just a two-hour journey from Hoddesdon but feels a million miles away. That little bit of shopping on the way home at Bicester Village Outlet Centre made my weekend complete. This is our third Country Cottage and we enjoy them so very much a real enjoyable way to switch off…just load the car up, put the dog in the back and off you go.
